The machine learning-based approach improves the resolution of the Cenozoic prediction by modelling the depth of the shallow Cenozoic surface using a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) architecture. The model trains on depth observations from soil profiles and drilling, utilizing terrain attributes. It works well in areas where the shape of the land affects sediment spread, making it important for accurate geological mapping.&#13;
