At the basin-scale, these aquifers are assumed to be hydraulically connected due to the absence of regional aquitards or other geological structures. These aquifers, commonly referred to in this report as the ‘regionally unconfined aquifers’, are the most common aquifers for groundwater supplies over most of the SNG region (except for the far southern parts where the Georgina Basin is overlain by younger Mesozoic aquifers of the Great Artesian Basin).&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;</idAbs>

            <statement>The RSWL contour dataset was derived from the Surface_RSWL_SNG dataset using the Contour Tool in ArcGIS Pro. The base contour was set to 100 and the contour interval was set to 20.

The Surface_RSWL_SNG dataset was created using groundwater elevations for a subset of bores attributed to the Barkly, Narpa, Cockroach, and Toko group aquifers of the Georgina Basin. Bores attributed to older units beneath the Barkly and Narpa group aquifers, as well as overlying younger formations (e.g. Mesozoic or Cenozoic sediments from the GAB or LEB) were excluded from the regional watertable map. Surface drainage features were also excluded in the contouring of groundwater elevations due to observed depths (&gt;15 m) of groundwater below the surface over most of the SNG region. The surface was created using the topo-to-raster method in ArcGIS Pro, which is less affected by local values relative to the kriging method, and then clipped to the Georgina and GAB basins.</statement>
