            <statement>The LEB hydrochemistry zones dataset was created by modifying the Project boundaries and extents group File Geodatabase Features Class dataset. Modifications were based on the AWRA drainage division vector data source (Bureau of Meteorology, 2022) and Drainage basin sub areas – Queensland vector data source (Department of Resources, 2021) that also took into consideration the spatial distribution of hydrochemical sample data.

Drainage subdivisions were grouped and merged to best optimise visulisation of hydrochemical sample data and remove state boundaries. The merged vector polygons were then converted into vector polylines using the ArcGIS Polygon to Line Data Management tool before the derived polylines were smoothed using the ArcGIS SmoothLine Cartography tool applying the "Polynomial Approximation with Exponential Kernel (PAEK) smoothing algorithm with a smoothing tolerance of 0.02 decimal degrees. The smoothed polyline features were then used to cut a copy of the source Project boundaries and extents File Geodatabase Feature Class dataset to create the final LEB hydrochemistry zones File Geodatabase Feature Class dataset.</statement>
