Description: Geological Chance is a term developed by Bradshaw et al (2002) [https://doi.org/10.1071/AJ0100] that describes the suitability of a site for geological storage of CO2 in Australia, by removing site detail factors (economics and engineering viability) from their Environmentally Sustainable Sites for Carbon Dioxide Injection rating system (an ESSCI is a reservoir or play within a reservoir). This ensures smaller potential geological storage sites are not discounted. Data compiled as part of the Australian Petroleum Cooperative Research Centre's GEODISC program (1999-2002). The information in this product is as accurate as possible, however, it may be in parts outdated or incomplete. This information should not form the sole basis for a commercial decision.
