Values of Principal Component 3 (PC3) derived from surface geochemical data of the National Geochemical Survey of Australia. Positive values of PC3, scale from ‘low’ to ‘high’, are dominated by the effects of elevated Cr, Sc, V, Ti, Co, and Ni. The PC3 values for the individual sample sites have been used to attribute the corresponding river catchments, which are shown as the coloured polygons in the Figure. Note values shown as ‘low’ include areas of no data (mainly in northern Western Australia and western South Australia) as well as catchments with negative PC3 values. |
