Service Description: The Health Service feature dataset presents the spatial locations, in point format, all known active General Practices, Hospitals and Pharmacies within Australia from the National Health Services Directory at the time of data download (see metadata document for download date).
For the purposes of this feature dataset, General Practice is defined as: Physicians whose practice is not restricted to a specific field of medicine. A Hospital is defined as: A health care facility established under Commonwealth, state or territory legislation as a hospital or a free-standing day procedure unit, and authorised to provide treatment and/or care to patients. A Pharmacy is defined as: A shop or dispensary where medicinal drugs are prepared or sold.
