Description: Land Subject to Inundation - Low lying land usually adjacent to lakes or watercourses, which is regularly covered with flood water for short periods. Saline Coastal Flat - That nearly level tract of land between mean high water and the line of the highest astronomical tide. Swamp - Land which is so saturated with water that it is not suitable for agricultural or pastoral use and presents a barrier to free passage. Marine Swamp - That low lying part of the backshore area of tidal waters, usually immediately behind saline coastal flat, which maintains a high salt water content, and is covered with characteristic thick grasses and reed growths.
